I love the way it looks, i love the way it feels, and I love the way it shoots. Anything else you would like to share about the gun? I actually shot a gun just like mine in a 9mm, but since I am a novice, thought that I would like the. Then I went to the range and tried out different guns in different calibers. First, I went to a gun show and several gun shops to see how different guns felt in my hand. Would you recommend this gun?įor someone considering this gun, what would you tell them? Haven’t tried this yet, but plan to soon. By the end of our range time, I was feeling more comfortable with it. It is a Double Action Only, so the long trigger pull takes the place of a safety. The only thing I am not thrilled about the Sig Sauer P290RS is the long trigger pull, but as I said, I think that just takes some getting used to. What do you dislike about shooting this gun, if anything? I only used one type-Winchester 95 grain.ĭoes this gun have any specific ammunition requirements? If so, please explain: I think it is probably due to my inexperience, as it was my first time shooting this gun, and I am very new to shooting as a whole.Īny problems with any type of ammunition? I did have a couple of jams while shooting, but they were easily cleared. (They actually glow in the dark how cool is that?) it’s only a 380 so it is super easy to rack and there is little recoil. They are easy to see, even if the lighting is not good. My hubby’s hands are much bigger, so he prefers the longer mag. I have small hands, so it is not an issue for me to fit my three fingers on it. I haven’t decided which I like better yet, but I am leaning toward the shorter one. It came with two magazines, one fits flush to the handle of the gun and the other one has a small extender. Like I said, this gun fits my hand perfectly. How does it fit your hand, how do you like the sights, how difficult is it to rack the slide, how would you describe the trigger pull, and how would you describe the recoil? The trigger is a very long pull, so that is something I am going to have to adjust to. I just shot Sig Sauer P290RS for the first time a couple of days ago, and for the most part, I love it. After checking out a lot of other guns both online and at gun shops, I decided this was the one. These handguns can be found with one or two magazines, holster, accessories and sometimes extra grip panels. Some other elements were redesigned also including the grip beavertail area, added finger support on the magazine baseplate, a reshaped magazine release and slide hold-open lever. This is called "Restrike Capability." Prior to the restrike capability redesign, a misfire required that the shooter retract the slide to reset the trigger disconnector in order to attempt to fire a cartridge that failed to ignite on the first attempt. The shooter can now simply pull the trigger a second time if there is a misfire. The main difference is that the DAO trigger was redesigned. The P290 model was replaced by a new model in 2012 by the SIG Sauer P290RS. The P290 trigger is a double-action only (DAO) trigger which actuates a hammer to fire the cartridge. The six-round magazine has a baseplate with a small finger rest, and also comes with a flush-fit baseplate without the finger rest. The P290 comes with one six-round magazine, and one eight-round magazine with extended baseplate. The P290 is not a modular design and comes in one caliber and frame size only. The slide rides on a stainless steel frame, which sits in the polymer grip section (or frame). The slide is stainless steel treated with Nitron, making it appear black. The P290 is chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum (9mm Luger, 9mm NATO). The Sig Sauer P290 is a polymer frame subcompact handgun that was produced from 2011 to 2017 by SIG Sauer of Exeter, New Hampshire.
